What to Know about the Advance Child Tax Credit Payments
Many have already started receiving their first Child Tax Credit payment from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), here are a few things you need to know.
As part of the American Resue Plan, families that are raising children younger than 18 years of age may be eligible to receive Child Tax Credit payments from the IRS beginning July 15, 2021. The Child Tax Credit is a tax benefit to help families who are raising children.
While most families with children qualify, you can confirm your eligibility by visiting irs.gov/childtaxcredit2021. Most eligible families do not need to take any action to get their payment. If you’ve filed tax returns for 2019 or 2020, or if you signed up to receive a stimulus check from the IRS, you will get this tax relief automatically.
